I don't care who you are or where you came from, farting is funny. Well, maybe not if you're a surgeon and you fart in the O.R. Well, maybe that's funny too. Perhaps a surgeon could shed some gas on that situation.
How about for patients? Different patients respond differently to farting in their hospital room. Some patients pretend like nobody heard them. We did. We just didn't say anything. Some patients laugh. Some patients say, "Excuse me". Some patients even bring their Beano with them in preparation for farting in the hospital.
Detecting farting noises is funny too, especially if you're a little baby. I took this cute video of Zachary when he was under a year old getting startled by fart noises. I knew that intensive teaching would come in handy some day. Now that he's a big 19 month older, he's able to snitch on his mommy when daddy isn't around. Does mommy toot?
